1. How long does the Classroom and Behind the Wheel (BTW) program take?
The student driver education program for Classroom + BTW will take a minimum of 6 to 12 weeks to complete as required by the State of Hawaii. Please keep in mind that due to Covid-19, the BTW may take months to complete. Drive times are limited at this time. 2. Is a permit required to take the class? A permit is not required to take the class; however, it will be needed for the BTW driving. 3. Is the BTW program available separately? Yes, it is and will take a minimum of 6 weeks to complete. |
4. When do the drives take place?
The driving lesson portion, the BTW, will take place after the classroom session is complete and will be scheduled based on the availability of the student and the instructor. 5. How many and how long are the drives? There will be 4 drives at 1.5 hours each, or 6- 1 hour drives. 6. What vehicles will be used? We have a Scion XB and a Toyota Yaris. They are equipped with an extra passenger brake and marked with signs on the vehicle as well as a sign on the roof for visibility. |
7. How do I sign up?
Download and mail in a completed application with payment to apply. You will be notified by email for confirmation. 8. Who can apply? All high school students are welcome to apply for our teen program. Private driving lessons are also available for adults and teens who would like additional practice.
